3 PEAKS CHALLENGE On the week-end of Friday 29th June 2007
May I firstlycongratulate each and every one of you for participating and completing the Challenge. To see you all at the bottom of Snowdon on your completion was indeed an honour. Secondly may I extend our sincerest thanks to Mick Finch- our most respected party leader in "leading" you all to your success in safety. I have attached a copy of his diary entries at the bottom of my e mail for those of you who have not yet had a chance to read it. And lastly, to our bus and kit drivers, for their dedication, support and patience- It would not have been possible to do this without you. Please pass this e mail on to Jackie, Victor, Simon G, Debs and Andy, and anyone else I dont have the e mail address on the "TO" bar above.
We have received a few e mails back from walkers expressing their thanks and appreciation of "allowing them the opportunity" to be involved in the Challenge. I am under the impression that most had an emotional journey over the past 6 months, both in their own lives , those who knew Ryan on a personal level, and those that by the end of it, felt they knew him. We are very touched that so many feel such a part of our lives now. It's almost like we have adopted another extension to our family. We have always been compared to the "Walton's" .... And that will live on- LOL.
The short presentation, I did in the pub was planned, however, we were blown away by the speech and collection that Mags and Caroline done on behalf of all the walkers and drivers. I'm not often lost for words... But that was, such a time. We had got back so much from the efforts and fundraising, you are all doing, it has given us focus and determination to maintain the strength needed for us to continue through each and every day, following the loss of Ryan.
I have been asked now several times, if I will be organising it again for next year, I wasn't going to, as I had originally thought, that you may be just excited, and quite rightly proud of what you had achieved, but it is now 3 weeks later, and a lot are still asking, so I will be arranging something, although I'm not quite sure what as yet, but I will keep you posted.
With heartfelt thanks to you all for your continued support- we are so grateful and soooooo proud of you all- WELL DONE!
May I remind you all to collect in your sponsor money ASAP and to please make any cheques payable to me,( E. Summers-Kemp) as my bank wont issue a promotional cheque to the full amount, unless it is actually in my account. The chron & Echo will issue the story of the challenge and the cheq presentation, so it would look alot better for public support of the RNBT if it was for a higher amount.
Please remember, that my new address is 54 Elizabeth way, Earls Barton, Northampton, NN6 OHW.
